Line Up / Programme
Formerly known as the front man of MTV’s Dirty Sanchez, Matt has left his pranking days behind for his love of vegan food, health and fitness. He released his first vegan cookbook Dirty Vegan in December 2018, described by Waitrose magazine as having universal appeal. Matt’s series Dirty Vegan premiered on BBC 1 Wales to wide acclaim and a second series has since been commissioned. The series sees Matt cooking a variety of exciting dishes to win over the Welsh public. From a hearty vegan Paella for a women’s rugby team, to tasty energy fuelled meals for school dinners. His mission? To make Wales fitter, healthier and stronger. Convincing the public that plant based food can be a sustainable lifestyle option.
Always seeking a thrill, Matt has replaced his wild life of pranking and partying with endurance sports. In 2016 he achieved a world record when he completed 30 half Iron Man events in 30 days, raising thousands of pounds for charity in the process.
The summer of 2019 saw Matt achieve 4th place in Brutal Event’s Deca UK – a hardcore competitive race consisting of a 24-mile pool swim, 1,120-mile bike and 262-mile run.
In 2018, Matt featured in the BBC 1 Wales documentary Wild Man to Ironman. An inspiring film following Matt’s gruelling journey through a 487- mile triathlon around the coast of Wales in just 14 days. The film exposes both his physical and mental strength. The challenge was as much one of endurance as it was a journey of self-discovery.
A professional skateboarder and stunt performer, Matt also owns the Sleep When You’re Dead Tattoo & Barbour shop in Cardiff. He’s also soon to open his own dog-grooming salon, Lemmy’s Chop Shop in Cardiff. Named after his beloved Springer Spaniel Lemmy.

Edward is a passionate vegan chef taking a holistic approach; teaching through spiritual veganism, animal rights and cooking demonstrations. Edward was former Chair of The Vegan Society, an author, solicitor, and has over 400 vegan recipes on his website.
Edward became vegan when one January, he went over to his fridge and took out a slab of meat wrapped in cellophane. As he examined the meat in the palm of his hand, he felt nausea. He felt guilt. This “ah ha” moment marked his journey to veganism. A journey of looking at life differently. Volunteering at vegan events led to him to The Vegan Society where he ultimately became its Chair, two years after becoming vegan, just as veganism was becoming mainstream. He left The Vegan Society to pursue public speaking – hating public speaking but doing what he felt was right – speaking up for the voiceless and assisting with the expansion of Veganism. On this journey he has been invited to speak at Vegan Life Live, UK’s largest vegan festival; Mind Body and Spirit; Veganes Sommerfest Berlin, Europe’s largest vegan festival; Bali Vegan Festival and of course, the events hosted by Vegan Events UK, the organiser for VFest.
Edward has over 400 vegan recipes on his website, and his recipes are featured in Vegan Life Magazine, Vegan Food & Living, OK! Magazine and also in Plant Based Magazine. Edward’s Raspberry Popsicle Recipe is on the front cover of June 2021’s Plant Based Magazine. Check it out.

M9 Awakening are husband and wife duo MOTH3R and 9TalesTheArtist: two Brixton-based musicians devoted to creating community, awakening minds, and reviving the ancient practice of storytelling through the urban tongue of their genre-blurring Witch-Hop music.
Using a mixture of carefully-crafted beats, raw vocals, live instruments, dance and visual art, their music ties together the artists’ native rhythms of London, Jamaica and Latin America, in a visceral and unapologetically honest celebration of life on Earth. Inspired by the mother-goddess archetype, their lyrics are to-the-point, truthful and loving. They are unafraid of bringing awareness to socialand ecological violence and repression, and less afraid of reminding us that we have the power to be and to enact change. Soulful, gritty and expansive, M9 Awakening tell stories of past, present and future as a form of art-activism, encouraging others to recognise their creative capacity, while remaining deeply rooted in the current reality that we live in.
As well as drawing attention to injustice, M9 Awakening are also devoted to exploring the healing potential of music. During performances, M9 Awakening invite listeners to live an emotional process with them, through embodied art ritual. The audience is taken down into the beating heart of the unconscious, and asked to surrender to the now of feeling. MOTH3R and 9TalesTheArtist deliver the listener’s own voice back to them with a clarity that dissolves any sense of separation between artist and audience. In welcoming all elements of the human experience, their music becomes a mirror for that which needs to be felt, expressed, heard and released collectively. Their music provides a safe and nourishing container for people to acknowledge and move through difficulty, and towards freedom, together.
As well as performing regularly for community and charity events around London, they are well-known in the UK festival scene, and have performed at Boomtown, Shindig, Sunrise, Small World, Landed, and F.R.I.E.N.D. Festival. MOTH3R released her debut album From Darkness Into The Light earlier in 2019, and M9 Awakening will be releasing the first of a two-part album BRAVE in 2020.

I am Kaj Kumari and I am an energetic, free and loving soul.
I have been vegan for 5 years after a long trip to India aged 16 whereby I was guided by a holy man who said ‘don’t eat animals it is like eating children’ then miraculously fell in love with vegetables and cooking which I had little interest in before! So I stopped my secret visits to the McDonald’s and Kfcs between my travels and began living life as we should, healthily.
I became an animal rights activist in Leicester aged 17 whereby I was with Dina Aherne (an inspiration) with her campaign ‘Honour the Cow, Give up Milk’ targeted at educating Asian areas on the realities of the dairy industry.
Through this I did many other things such as food festivals, slaughterhouse visits, anonymous for the voiceless and general leafleting.
Since then I have been raising awareness online and through speech and have actually inspired many, many friends and strangers to change because of my loving and easy approach.
In personal aspects- I am a freelance model- worked for local Fashion weeks, Miss England (where I spread the vegan message too), and I am president of the Bellydance Society at the University of Nottingham
I am into holistic health, healing, crystals, lots of meditation and yoga- practicing my spiritual beliefs daily and praying for the world always.
I dream to be a writer- my speciality is poetry and may be get involved with music and the arts too (which I am so excited to see and hear at VFest)

My name is Pan and I was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. I moved to the UK 2,5 years
ago and I now live in the beautiful countryside in Hereford city.
My journey with plant-based food started 7 years ago when I started having
digestive issues after eating meat. I then went vegetarian for 2 years and after
watching documentaries and enhancing my education about a healthy lifestyle
and nutrition I went vegan.
That’s when I started experimenting with new recipes and interesting
ingredients and I discovered a whole new world of food! I now eat a whole
plant-based diet and my aim is to inspire people and educate them so they can
enjoy the benefits of a healthy and delicious whole food diet as well.
The past 1.5 year my wife and I are running Earthing Zero Waste Shop, an eco-
friendly refill shop and vegan cafe in Hereford. Through this experience I had
the opportunity to enhance my cooking skills through creating a balanced and
tasty menu which we shared with our customers.

Kevin The Vegan
Uniting his love for Veganism and music, Kevin is a multi-genre Vegan DJ from South London.
“I’m super excited to be DJ’ing at VFestUK, their captivating events offer an insight to our compassionate and ethical world”.
Specialising in vibrant and energetic House/Dance, Indie Rock and Dancehall sets, he uses his 11 years of professional experience in London bars and clubs to entertain spirited revellers at dancefloors across the city.
I have been vegan and active, for the last five and a half years. Animal rights is my main passion, which I combine with other passions of mine. I’ve done various forms of activism. In person, and online, in groups and individually. From YouTube videos, to organising events, to artwork.
I believe that every individual can; not only make a difference, but play to their strengths, to add their own unique input, to help the movement grow. Activism is an umbrella term, with no ‘one way fits all’. It can take the form of challenging hard graft… or super quick, easy actions, requiring minimal effort, after a long day’s work. Most importantly of all, it can be fun and rewarding! There are many ways in which we can educate and inspire others, to help us achieve a vegan world. Whatever your lifestyle, wherever you are in the world, whatever your interests are, your passions, your strengths… there is something for everyone!

Chameleman is a Vegan, Reggae and Dub producer from North Wales, who’s debut album ‘Lizard in Dub’ made waves around the North Wales Soundsystem community. It also reached 7th on Juno Downloads most recommended chart in August 2019.
Chamelemans sound fuses world renowned tracks such as Aretha Franklin’s ‘Chain of Fools’ with the sub shattering resonance of electronic Reggae music. The name Chameleman comes from a Chameleon he rescued called ‘Reggie’. He plays homage to his herpetological hero Steve Irwin in the track ‘Chameleman’ by featuring samples of his speech, cut to a heavy Dub rhythm.
Chameleman started DJ’ing in 2014 at house parties around North Wales, his musical influences came from a wide variety of artists from The Slits to KRS One, and Bob Marley to Pendulum. Originally mixing Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and House, he swiftly turned his focus on his first musical love, Reggae. In all its forms and beauty, from its predecessor of Ska to Roots, Lovers Rock, Rocksteady, Dancehall, Steppas, Jungle and Dub. It was the bass heavy, skank friendly conscious sound of Dub music that had him obsessed. As he studied Music Technology and Performance in De Montfort University in Leicester he began producing his own tracks, featuring a unique blend of recorded instrumentation and sample based music. Since moving back to North Wales he has been had the opportunity to play on some incredible Soundsytems from across the UK. His Debut album was released on the label Ritual Collective and he has a single to be released on a compilation album entitled ‘Welsh Dub Alliance’ in March 2020. Later in the year he intends on releasing a single mixing the traditional sounds of Egypt with sonorous beats of Dub, this single will have all proceeds going to animal charities in Egypt.
Expect a Zesty selection of Cruelty Free, Plant Based Bangers delivered smoothly to your Ear Lobes.
